Thank you! YOGA! -International Yoga Day

Updated: Jun 23, 2019

First, Happy International Yoga Day!!

I’m religion free. YOGA is just my faith. It’s not a religion but it’s my guiding light, it’s my invisible supporter.

It’s my 11th year in the US. 11 years ago, I chose to leave my parents and all my circles in China, and came here alone to purse my new life. I took me huge courage to make this step. For all the immigrants, the first few years are the toughest, because everything looks strange to you. You will have to learn new skills to remove all the hurdles in your new life. You will have to create a new circle from scratch. It’s totally like a reset of life. Then I got married and had kids, I chose to be a SAHM, I’ve been raising my 3 kids mostly on my own. It’s really easy for me to look back and talk about it now, none the less, yoga played such an important supportive role in my new life. Without yoga, I couldn’t keep up my positivity and motivation while pursuing my new life.

Yoga built up my physical strength which is so much needed by a mom of 3; Through asana physical practice, it changed my lifestyle and also made my mind less wandering and be more focused; Through a focused mind, I learnt how to be present. Through being present, I better understand myself and the life I’m living, no matter if it’s good, bad, tough or easy, which we have to go through. I would be relieved once I’m aware of the meaning of my life, the different stage of my life, and the different roles I play in my life. Everything just has a timeline. Everyone has his own timeline. Everything happens in our life for a reason.

I want to Thank YOGA for accompanying me during my this 11 years, for bringing me so much power, for teaching me how to be a good person and how to be brave, for guiding me how to drop my ego, for allowing me time to see, listen and find my true self. #happyinternationalyogaday
